Of note, the 2022 Legislature could take up a proposal that would reduce the out-of-state university plates’ goal back to 3,000, and expand the pre-sale period for all potential tags from two years to four. In Florida, license plates stay with the owner as long as they are in use. The Alabama plate, like plates for Auburn and the University of Georgia, though, have a 4,000 presale threshold.
